Since 2012, the mid-day meal (MDM) programme offers wholesome freshly cooked lunch to street children, mainly rag pickers and child labourers. Food is prepared in the BUDS center’s kitchen in a clean and safe space, where all sanitary measures are respected, and taught to children. All children wash their hands with soap before eating, while cooks and helpers wear protective gear when cooking and serving food. Safe drinking water is available for children.
On special occasions such as public holidays or birthdays, “festive meals” are prepared and different types of food like sweets, halwa, kheer, local dishes, raita, juice are made available to children. BUDS would like to thank all donors, and especially Mr. R.C. Mody, Dr. Shalini Bansal and Dr. Meera Prakash who made it possible for children to truly embrace these special events. Every day with the Mid-Day Meal program, at least 346 children are served a hot cooked meal
At BUDS, we focus on charity efficiency. We make sure to optimize our internal processes so that we can maximise outcome from every dollar received. For less than 10 USD($) donated, you can feed and provide a health education to a child for one month...
