Aisha is 20 years old, before her marriage, she used to reside in Jharkhand. Her family includes 7 members in her family; Husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and their two children. They all adjust themselves to a tiny room due to limited income and resources. Her sister-in-law moved in with them after her husband passed away. Aisha’s husband earns a living by installing CCTV cameras into the buildings. She had appeared for her 10th standard exams but dropped out after she was unable to clear the Science and Maths papers.
After marriage, hr husband and mother-in-law encouraged her to continue her education.
It’s been two years since she has been associated with the BUDS PACE program. She gets support for her education through BUDS initiatives. Now she feels confident and empowered by the knowledge she has gained. She shared, “teachers at BUDS PACE center are sensitive and supportive”, so that she doesn’t feel hesitant while asking questions while clearing her doubts.
Help during the Pandemic:
During the pandemic, BUDS provided her with the dry rations. Her mother-in-law received free medicines for her heart problems during the pandemic.
Future aspirations:
Aisha loves reading books, she visits the library at the BUDS centre and reads stories, etc. While she aspires to become a doctor, we at BUDS, aim to support many other young girls just like Aisha in reaching their goals through education.
At BUDS, we focus on charity efficiency. We make sure to optimize our internal processes so that we can maximise outcome from every dollar received. For less than 10 USD($) donated, you can feed and provide a health education to a child for one month...
